Cargo of Red
Fossil, Wyoming - September 1999
Three Union Pacific locomotives pull this colorful
train of containers upgrade past the sage brush
and wild grass covered east side of Fossil Butte
in southwest Wyoming. Stacked two and three
apiece to each rail car and carrying all types of
goods, these containers are part of an intermodal
shipping system whereby train, ship, and truck
all contribute to carrying each container, and
its contents, to its final destination.
