Wind River Bridge
Wind River Canyon, Wyoming - July 2001
The beautiful canyon is remarkable for its variety of
exposed geology. This image shows on the left and above
the track a darker rock that dates to the Precambrian
Era, while some of the remaining exposed rock is traced
to the Paleozoic Era, a difference of no less than two
billion years! This geological significance backdrops an
infrequent, weekend, daytime Burlington Northern
Santa Fe freight run through the canyon.
